The strategic electronic R&D centre was established in 1971 for research and development in communication, radar, mission, navigation and identification systems for Aircraft and Helicopters. 
SLRDC
 Over 40 types of Avionics Systems consisting of secure communication, Identification systems, Radio altimeters, Ground Radars, Flight Control systems, on Board Computers, Navigation, Electronic Warfare, Hybrid Micro-electronics and Space Applications have been indigenously designed and developed. 
Key products developed in the above areas  have been successfully manufactured and installed on various aircraft and helicopters. It is an AS 9100D certified R & D center for Avionics

A Communication Systems
1. SELCAL DECODER - SELCAL The SELCAL Decoder alert the crew with visual and audible indication upon receipt of the acceptable coded signal when ground station wishes to communicate with aircraft. SELCAL Decoder.jpg
2. Digital Audio Management System- DAMS Provides Intercommunication among Pilot/Co-Pilot/Cabin crew/Ground Crew. Also provides interface and control to Transceiver, Receiver and Warning Receivers audios. DAMS.jpg
3. UHF Data Link Unit - UDLU UHF Data Link Unit (UDLU) provides Half-duplex LOS data communication in UHF band (450MHz– 500MHz) and is used to exchange Telemetry data, Command control data, Video data and Audio data between Aircraft and Ground.The operational frequency of the UHF Data link system is programmable and selectable by the user with in the specified UHF band. B Navigation Systems
4. Distance Measuring Equipment - DME MKII DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) is a polar coordinate type radio air navigation system that provides an aircrew with range information on the ARINC 429 Bus for display on the MFD. The range in nautical miles indicates the distance of the aircraft from the surface beacon. DME MKII.jpg
5. Tactical Air Navigation- TACAN MKII TACAN MKII (tactical air navigation) is a polar coordinate type radio air navigation system that provides an aircrew with range and bearing (azimuth) information on the MIL-STD-1553B Bus for display on the Mission Computer/ Display. Using this information pilot can fly directly to the particular location or to use the bearing and distance from a specific beacon to fix his geographic location. The range in nautical miles indicates the distance of the aircraft from the surface beacon in T/R Mode and from the other aircraft in A/A Mode. The bearing indicates the direction in degrees with respect to magnetic north in T/R and REC Modes TACAN MKII.jpg

6. IntegratedControl Computer - ICC The ICC perform the guidance, Navigation and control (GNC) functions to ensure a safe and successful flight/mission under the stated operating conditions. 7. Data & Video Recording System - DVRS DVRS records three video input channels (Two DVI & one RGB), two audio input channels, two 1553B bus channels and two RS422 channels for a duration of 8 hrs continuously in 128GB Removable Memory Module (RMM). It also has a provision for Loading and dumping of Mission planning data between MC and DVRS through Ethernet interface. DVRS.jpg
8. Solid State Data & Video Recording System - SSDVRS SSDVRS records six video input channels, two audio input channels, two 1553B bus channels and two RS422 channels for a duration of 4 hrs continuously in 128GB Removable Memory Module (RMM). 9. Solid State Weapon Control System - SSWCS Solid State Weapon Control System (SSWCS) is designed for the management of weapon stores on JAGUAR A/c. The system is capable of configuring the weapons and provide release controls for smart weapons and classical weapons (Bombs, Rocket Pods and Fuel-tanks) in normal mode and emergency mode SSWCS.jpg
