Shri R Madhavan
Chairman and Managing Director, Addl Charge - Director (Operations)

Shri R. Madhavan was appointed as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of our Company w.e.f September 1, 2018. He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Raipur and also holds post graduate degree of M. Tech from IIT Madras.
Shri Madhavan joined Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) as a Management Trainee (Technical) in July 1982 and has been associated with HAL for over 36 years. He was elevated to the position of Executive Director, Accessories Division, Lucknow in July 2017. Prior to his elevation, Shri Madhavan had served in various key positions across the different verticals within HAL.
Under his leadership, Accessories Division, Lucknow (ADL) had overcome multiple challenges and emerged much stronger by doubling up its topline within a span of 3 fiscal years besides consistently meeting annual targets of all financial & physical parameters during last 4 years. During his tenure, ADL was also awarded the best performing Division (Customer Services) award in company-wide competition during January 2016.
Shri Madhavan with his rich and varied experience had provided solutions related to intricate technical problems and strategic issues. He provided valuable inputs as a member of Tri-service committee for high altitude operation of Helicopters and had overseen successful launch of export of Engine sets to USA while in Engine Division, Bangalore, which led to considerable improvement in the Division's process to meet the international standards. Under his leadership, the Quality team at Corporate Office bagged the prestigious Platinum Technology award for the company at Berlin. He spearheaded successful absorption of technology for production of Su-30 Airframe & Engine accessories from raw material phase, at HAL Accessories Division, Lucknow.  He had also extensively contributed to GOI's "Make in India" strategy by developing MSME sector vendors for Aerospace.
Manufacturing, and had set roadmap for enhancing self-reliance & self-sufficiency through indigenisation efforts for obsolescence management and for developing alternate technology leading to product improvement & reduction in cost.  
Shri Madhavan had also taken several e-initiatives, implementation of which have brought in systemic changes, transparency & process improvement.
An avid reader and active in professional societies, Shri Madhavan is a member of Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI).
Shri Madhavan has been entrusted with additional charge of Director (Operations) of the Company, for 3 months w.e.f 1st March, 2022 or till the post of Director (Operations) is vacant, whichever is earlier.

Alok Verma
Director (HR)

Shri Alok Verma has taken over as Director (Human Resources) of the Company with effect from January 1, 2020. Prior to taking over as Director, Shri Alok Verma was holding the post of General Manager (Human Resources- Employee Relations) at HAL Corporate Office.
Pursuant to completing his Bachelors Degree in Science from Patna University, Shri Alok Verma acquired a Post Graduate Degree in Social Work. He also holds an LLB from Jiwaji University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from Punjab Technical University. He joined Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. as Chief Manager (Human Resources) at the Nasik Facility, one of the biggest manufacturing Divisions of HAL, in 2006. Pursuant to his stint at Nasik, he took over the reins of the HR Function at HAL Hyderabad wherein he was instrumental in transforming the face of Employee Management Relations. His endeavor has been to develop systems that seek to create a Learning Organization and a Performance driven Culture.
Most recently, Shri Alok Verma played a key role in settlement of the Wage Negotiations between the HAL Management and the recognized Unions culminating in signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union in December 2019. Having started his career with National Fertilizers Ltd. in November 1987, Shri Verma brings to the table, a rich and a diverse experience of over three decades in the Human resources Function.

Shri Arup Chatterjee
Director (Engineering and R&D)

Shri Arup Chatterjee was appointed as Director (Engeering and R&D) of the Company with effect from June 1, 2018. He is a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, and has done M. Tech in Aircraft Production Engineering from IIT, Chennai. He has also done MBA from IGNOU.
Shri Chatterjee joined HAL as 17th Batch Management Trainee in the year 1982. He had held several key positions in the Company prior to his elevation as Director (Engg. and R&D).
Shri Arup Chatterjee has over 36 years of wide experience in Aerospace Industry. During his career spanning 36 years, Shri Chatterjee has served in various Divisions of HAL. He was the head of Machine Shop, Methods Deptt., IMM Department, Projects, Planning of Avionics Equipment required for Russian & Western origin Aircraft platform, in Korwa Division, where he has served for 28 years. He has also served in Kanpur Division for 4 years in the field of Air Frame Manufacturing and had served in the capacity of head of IJT project, Planning and IMM for Dornier, Avro & UAV Projects.
Further, he had served in Koraput Division of HAL, where he had immensely contributed in various programmes / projects viz., Repair & Overhaul of R25, R29B & R33 engines for MiG series fighter aircraft as well as Manufacture & repair/overhaul of AL31FP engines for Su-30 aircraft.  Prior to his elevation to the post of Director (Engg. and R&D), he was the General Manager of Aircraft Research & Design Centre.

Shri C.B. Ananthakrishnan
Director (Finance) & CFO

Shri C B Ananthakrishnan was appointed as Director (Finance) of our Company with effect from August 1, 2018. Prior to his appointment as Director (Finance), he was holding the post of Executive Director (Finance) of our Company. He joined our company as Chief Manager (Finance) on 31st March 2004 and thereafter worked in various capacities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai, MBA in Finance from Madras University and is a Cost & Management Accountant. He has over 30 years of work experience in Public & Private sectors with stints in merchant banking, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, aerospace industry and has held various positions in our Company. He is also nominee Director of HAL in the Board of three joint ventures of HAL.
He played an active role in HAL’s Initial Public Offer (IPO) during March 2018. Having rich experience in pricing, he was instrumental in signing of major helicopter contracts of HAL including supply of 159 helicopters to the Armed Forces.

Shri Jayadeva E. P
Director (Operations)
Shri Jayadeva E. P.  holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore and did Masters from IIT Madras in Aircraft Production Engineering.

He joined Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in 1987 as a Management Trainee, and has about 33 years of experience in the areas of Manufacturing, Assembly, Overhaul, Upgrades, Customer support, Indigenisation and other Management functions. He worked in various Divisions/Offices like Overhaul Division, Aircraft Division, LCA Tejas Division and Corporate Office. He is known for his contributions in managing new Fighter Aircraft Manufacturing, Overhaul and Upgrade from project inception to execution stage. In his stint at corporate planning he has played a significant role in framing perspective plans of the Company. He was instrumental in establishment of Repair & Overhaul and Upgrade facility for Kiran, Hawk and Mirage Aircraft at Overhaul Division. He was instrumental in developing indigenously high value Ground Support Equipment / Ground Handling Equipment for Overhaul and Upgrade lines. He has also served as Director on two (2) Joint Venture Companies of HAL.

Prior to taking over as Director (Operations), Shri Jayadeva was holding the post of General Manager, LCA Tejas Division, Bangalore.  During his tenure the division saw a sustained growth and reached production of 8 aircraft during 2021-22. He had taken path breaking steps with the strategic outsourcing of structural assemblies from Indian Industries, which is poised to grow further. He undertook the Product Quality enhancement initiatives and capacity augmentation process for Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) to double the rate of production to 16 aircraft per annum and successfully established second production for LCA.

Shri. Jayadeva steered the finalization of 83 LCA MK1A Contract with IAF during Feb 2021. The deal was considered biggest “Make in India” defence contract and will boost the defence eco-system in India
Shri Chandraker Bharti
Joint Secretary (Aerospace)

Shri Chandraker Bharti was appointed as Government Nominee Director of our Company with effect from May 15, 2018. Earlier also, he served as Government Nominee Director of our Company from April 27, 2017 to February 28, 2018. He is an engineering graduate from Delhi College of Engineering, joined the Indian Administrative Services in September 1996. He has also acquired M.Sc degree in Public Management & Policy from London School of Economics & Political Science, UK.
He has more than 22 years of experience in Civil Services and held various important assignments, which include Additional Commissioner, Department of Sales Tax, Govt. of NCT of Delhi; Director, Ministry of Commerce & Industry; Development Commissioner in various Government Departments such as Agriculture, Finance & Planning, Industries & Commerce, Information Technology, etc. in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. He had also served for a short period at Health & Family Welfare and Environment & Forest Departments of Govt. of NCT of Delhi.

Dr. Tessy Thomas
FNAE , Distinguished Scientist & Director General, Aeronautical Systems

Dr. Tessy Thomas was appointed as Government Nominee Director of our Company with effect from July 2, 2018. She is a post-graduate in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Guided Missiles from Institute of Armament and has also done MBA in Operations Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University. She has been awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Missile Guidance by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
Dr. Tessy Thomas, who is currently serving as Director General, Aeronautical Systems in Aeronautical Development Establishment, Bangalore, has served more than 30 years in DRDO. She had held multi-dimensional roles & responsibilities and had contributed in various fields such as Guidance, Control, Inertial Navigation, Trajectory Simulation and Mission Design. Dr. Thomas had held various key assignments in DRDO, which include Project Director for AGNI-4 project, Project Director (Mission) for the long range AGNI-5 system, Director, Advanced Systems Laboratory, DRDO.
Dr. Thomas is the Chairperson of Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research, Thiruvananthapuram and Indian Society for Advancement of Materials & Process Engineering, Hyderabad Chapter. Dr. Thomas is also a member in various other Professional Institutions and Societies related to Science, Technology and Engineering.
Dr. Thomas has been conferred with various prestigious Awards / Honours, the latest being the “First Ladies” Award for First Missile Woman of India from the Hon’ble President of India as Exceptional Woman who transcended barriers to be the First in their Fields on January 21, 2018.

Dr. Divya Gupta
Non-Official (Independent) Director

Dr. Divya Gupta has been appointed as Non-Official (Independent) Director on the Board of our Company on 28th December, 2021.  Though she is a social activist and Doctor by profession, she has more than 36 years of experience in handling corporate affairs being director in two companies, where she involves herself in decision making process and playing a crucial role in increasing the shareholders’ wealth.
She is also an active member of various social organisation where she immensely contributed to the society especially for making women self-dependent and capable. She is a columnist and keeps regularly writing in newspapers & magazines, on social issues.
Apart from various awards and accreditations she got in the past, she was recently awarded with “Dr. Sorojini Naidu International Award for Best Working Women” during year 2021.
She is not related to any other directors of the Company and does not hold shares in the Company.
Non-Official (Independent) Director
Shri Deepak Abasaheb Shinde has been appointed as Non-Official (Independent) Director on the Board of our Company with effect from April 28, 2022.

Shri Shinde has done B.E (Civil) from Shivaji University, Kolhapur and M.Tech (Civil, Structural Engg.) from IIT Madras. 

After completing his post-graduation from IIT Madras in 1981, he worked in a family firm Miraj Concrete Works where he executed various Irrigation pipeline projects. He has more than 40 years’ of work experience in different field and has promoted various private Ltd Companies during this period. He was also associated with Professional, Industrial, Financial, Educational and Social Organizations in different capacity. 
He is not related to any other directors of the Company and does not hold shares in the Company.
Mr. G.V. Sesha Reddy
Executive Director(Company Secretary)

Mr. G.V. Sesha Reddy is the Executive Director(Company Secretary) and Compliance Officer of our Company. He is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He also holds bachelor of commerce degree from Venkateshwara University and master’s degree in business administration and bachelor of laws from Osmania University. He had joined our Company on June 18, 2015. Prior to joining HAL, Reddy had an experience of about 25 years in other organisations.

 Shri Amitabh Bhatt

Shri Amitabh Bhatt, Executive Director of LUH Project, has taken over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bangalore Complex with effect from 01 February 2020, succeeding Shri Shekhar Shrivastava who superannuated from the services on 31 January 2020.   
With Two decades of experience in Private sector, he joined HAL in January 2006 as Deputy General Manager at Helicopter Division, holding roles of marketing leadership responsibilities in Helicopter Sales, Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Services to Indian as well as foreign Customers, before moving to Planning & Projects at HAL Corporate Office.   In July 2016, he was appointed as Chief of Projects (LUH), Helicopter Division.
As the CoP (LUH), he was instrumental in formulation and setting up of Greenfield manufacturing project, an integrated New Helicopter Factory, near Tumakuru.   In July 2019, he was elevated as Executive Director (LUH).
Shri Amitabh Bhatt holds a B.Sc.(Engineering) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College (REC), Rourkela and a Post Graduate Degree in Management.
His leadership experience with business acumen covers Marketing, Planning & Projects, Program execution, Operational skills, Technology vision, After Sales Support, Customer value creation, as well as insights of Aerospace & Defense business core strengths.
Presently, he is a nominee Director on Board of AASSC (Aerospace & Aviation Sector Skill Council).
As a CEO (BC), his focus will now be on ensuring that Bangalore Complex continues to deliver Manufacturing excellence, effective After Sales Support and demonstrate its firm presence in the service of Indian Armed Forces and Other Customers.

Mr S Anbuvelan

Shri S Anbuvelan, is appointed as Chief Executive Officer, Helicopter Complex with effect from October 01st  2020. He is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Algappa Chettiar College of Engineering, Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, and also holds a Post Graduate Degree of M Tech in Aircraft Production Engineering from IIT Madras and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from XIME, Bangalore. 
Shri S.Anbuvelan joined Hindustan Aeronautics Limited as Management Trainee (Technical)-21st Batch on July 21st, 1986 and has been associated with HAL for 34 years. He was elevated to the position of Executive Director, Helicopter Division in July 2020. Prior to his elevation, Shri Anbuvelan has served in various key positions within HAL.
Some of his achievements during his tenure in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited are, Productionising ALH’s Integrated Transmission Assembly, Ramping up Production of ALH Gear boxes, Reduction of snags during equipping of ALH, Training & Development of employees with a focus on Individual Development, Outsourcing management using web portal for R29 & R29B project, Quality improvements in ROH of Cheetah & Chetak Helicopters at Barrackpore. Streamlining of ALH Production, implementation of latest technologies in the field of Manufacturing & Assembly of Helicopter Products.
Shri Anbuvelan brings a vast amount of expertise in end-to-end process optimisation, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain management – key assets to transition of our company to the next levels of production efficiency. 
His diverse leadership background in Manufacturing and Production, as well as his insight across the broad portfolio of HAL’s Products and Services will help Helicopter Complex for renewed growth in the Indian Defense and Civil Helicopter market.

Shri Sajal Prakash

Shri Sajal Prakash has taken charge as Chief Executive Officer, Accessories Complex (CEO-AC) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at Lucknow on 01st September, 2019.  Shri Sajal Prakash holds a degree of B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from HBTI, Kanpur, a PG degree of M. Tech in Aircraft Production Engineering from IIT, Chennai and has completed Leadership Development Program at IIM, Ahmedabad.  

As CEO of Accessories Complex of HAL, Shri Sajal Prakash has administrative control and overall responsibility of Accessories Division –Lucknow, Avionics Division – Korwa(UP), Avionics Division – Hyderabad, Strategic Electronics Factory – Kasargod (Kerala), Transport Aircraft Division – Kanpur and HAL Detachment at Agra. While the establishments at Lucknow, Korwa, Hyderabad & Kasargod are currently engaged in manufacturing and repair/overhaul of accessories for both Fixed wing & Rotary wing aircraft & also of Aero-engines, TAD Kanpur Division & HAL detachment at Agra are engaged in manufacturing & Overhaul of Transport Aircraft.

Shri Sajal Prakash started his career in Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. as a Management Trainee (Tech.) (XXI Batch) in the year 1986. During his career spanning over 33 years in HAL he has worked in various Divisions and Offices of HAL including TAD – Kanpur, HAL Corporate Office and Helicopter Division, Bangalore before taking over the Accessories Complex as CEO. 

Prior to this position, he was posted as General Manager at HAL – Transport Aircraft Division, Kanpur. He has rich experience in diverse fields like Project Management, Marketing, Business Development, Civil Aircraft & Helicopters. Shri Prakash with his rich and varied experience has been instrumental in identifying solutions related to intricate technical problems and strategic issues. He has provided valuable inputs and also extensively contributed to GOI's "Make in India" strategy, by manufacturing Civil Do-228 Aircraft and has set the roadmap for enhancing self-reliance & self-sufficiency through indigenisation efforts for obsolescence management and for developing alternate technology leading to product improvement & reduction in cost. 

Under his leadership, Transport Aircraft Division, Kanpur has overcome multiple challenges and emerged much stronger besides consistently meeting annual targets of all financial & physical parameters. Shri Prakash has taken several e-initiatives, implementation of which have brought in systemic changes, transparency & process improvement.

He has extensively travelled within India and abroad. He has very good understanding of International Aviation Industry across the globe. He is a team player to the core who leads his team by example and a passionate reader with excellent communication skill.

Shri Prakash is an active member of professional bodies like Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) and also has been the Chairman of Kanpur Branch (UP & Bihar Chapter) (AeSI) from July 2017 to August 2019.

Shri Dibyendu Maiti

Shri Dibyendu Maiti has taken over as Chief Executive Officer, MiG Complex from July 1, 2021. Prior to this, he was Executive Director (Corporate Planning) at Corporate Office.
Shri Dibyendu Maiti did his graduation in Mechanical Engineering from REC Durgapur and M. Tech in Aircraft Production Engg from IIT, Madras. He did his MS in Aeronautics & Space Technology from ENSAE, Toulouse France. He joined HAL as a Management Trainee (Technical) in 1985 and has 35 years of experience in various key positions.
During his career spanning over 35 years in HAL, he has worked at Nasik Division, MiG Complex Office and Corporate Office at various positions in various capacities. He contributed significantly towards indigenous development of highly complicated test rigs for RD-33 engine accessories & BISON upgrade. He was instrumental in establishing the ROH facilities of Su-30MKI Aircraft, the first ever ROH line for the Aircraft in the world. He also steered the project for enhancement of ROH facilities from 15 to 20 aircraft. He held the position of Secretary in the erstwhile Indo Russian Sub Group on Aviation (IRSA) during his tenure at MiG Complex.
During his tenure in Corporate Office, he played a key role in activities such as 'Perspective Plan 2021-2030', identification of diversification projects for HAL, anchored signing of various significant MoUs and resolved many supply chain and projects related issues.
He has vast experience of handling very complex projects involving various stake holders and interactions with customers like Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Ministry of Defence and many overseas customers.
